Bayliner USA have built thousands of boats of many different models over the years and they have become well known for the large volume Pilothouse designs.
“Chrisda” is a Bayliner 5788 Pilothouse (17.3mt) that has been moored at Westhaven since the current owners imported it from the USA approx. 10 years ago, over this time they have used the vessel for coastal family cruising between Auckland, the Barrier and the Bay of Islands. The 5788 Pilothouse offers a quite, comfortable ride at cruise speed with a good flow of indoor and outdoor living from the large saloon and galley whilst also offering foredeck access from the pilot house directly. Looking aft from the lower helm station its just a few steps up to the open bridge deck with full engine controls and access to the tender & davit. Pilothouse vessel can often be a problem when it comes to reversing into marina berths but Chrisda is equipped with a set of engine controls and a bow thruster to aid handling.
