After 34 years of staunch service to her owner and creating adventurous memories from North Cape to Stewart Island the time has come for Azraq to pass to her next keeper and begin new adventures.

Built tough by NZ’s legendary Markline Boats the 1600 Convertible was the builder’s foray into the larger scale sportfisher market and the model knocked it out of the park in terms of performance, volume, sea keeping and cockpit space. Sadly only 2 examples were completed (Azraq being #2) before the sharemarket crash hobbled NZ boat production and with both boats being tightly held by long term owners only a lucky few have experienced the capabilities of this epic design.

At 16.5m overall combined with a mighty 5.1m beam the internal volume and cockpit floor area are impressive to say the least. Accommodation is generous with a clever 3 cabin layout featuring a midship master cabin (plus full ensuite) and 6 further single berths in 2 cabins either side of the main bathroom.

Making full use of the huge beam the main saloon offers luxurious, plush lounge areas combined with a large, aft galley and separate bar. This area also houses a traditional internal helm station cleverly designed to minimise use of space.

The cockpit is a fishing and diving enthusiasts dream, set low to the water with high clearance overhead and approx 12sqm of floor area!

The flybridge features a perfectly positioned aft/central helm station providing excellent vision both forward and down to the cockpit for fishing and berthing. The flybridge has been further upgraded with the addition of a GRP hardtop and full glass enclosure ensuring maximum protection and comfort no matter the conditions.

Her MAN V10 engines provide high torque, low stress power able to propel Azraq swiftly and efficiently at all speeds with impressive sprint capability in excess of 30 knots.

Having had the privilege of experiencing years of adventure, fun and friendship onboard Azraq including a documented expedition to Fiordland and Stewart Island her keeper is ready to retire from boating and pass Azraq on to the next dedicated owner to enjoy as is or as the basis for a very rewarding refresh/update project.

Priced to sell, the owner is motivated to pass this historied vessel on to a new owner ready to refresh and update her for another 34 years of fun and adventure.
